a quick question if i may - i have bought a basin mate (as advised on this site) from b & q - called a vanity/basin washer! when putting it up to the bottom of the basin, do i use any putty around the top as i would for a normal washer, and also the plastic coating on the outside (like a small/thin backnut) - do i throw this away and use my original backnut instead? sorry i have never used one before and they are funny little things!:) thanks guys!

no putty and comes with a white thin plastic washer push that on then your backnut.

The white foam washer goes in the basin between the waste the basin. The black dome rubber is pushed up from underneath, then the white nut.

No extra silicone is required at all.

their should also be a tin white plastic washer that gos on before the nut

their is the thick rubber part, the plastic ring cap (like a thin back nut) and a polystyrene type think round washer - as said by a poster, this goes inside the sink under the waste outlet
