Hi Guys,
Replacing my bathroom fan, present one is a basic vent axia with live, switched live & neutral, the switched live has been looped from the permanent, see photo.
This fan has a separate on off switch on the wall next to light switch but not controlled by light switch ( also have a fan isolate pole switch above the door - new build)
New fan is just a basic with live and neutral connection required, no timer or humid, earth will be redundant as double insulated product.

Question is the live in the photo, is that permanent and can I wire the live and neutral in the photo straight to new fan,
Thanks all

The live in the photo is a switched live, from your switch. So the new fan will work the same way (on and off with the switch) it just won't need a link.

Thanks Trojan, ust never see it looped like that before so worth asking

It’s been done that way because the existing fan has the facility for over run but as you only have live and neutral you can’t benefit from the over run timer

And to avoid your confusion, the Switched Live conductor should have been connected to the Switched Live terminal and not the Permanent Live terminal.
Although obviously it makes no difference, it did not become a Permanent Live conductor because of the PL written on the terminal. :)
