I need to buy two batten lamp holders, to use as a heat source under my wooden seed tray.

I made up a frame a few years ago, which holds 3 large seed trays, actually they are called gravel trays. I used these for a few years, once the seedlings were too big for a proper electric propagator. EAch tray has a plastic lid

This year I used both batten lamp holders for other projects in the house,so now need two more.

In Wilko, they are £1.25 each, while at Screwfix, there are a few different brands, ranging from about £2 to about £4. No doubt at B&Q and Wickes there are loads of other options.

What's the difference ?

Is it worth paying the extra price. ?

thank you

Crabtree or Ashley (Hager) would normally be my choice, you should be OK with BG too, but avoid most of the 3 letter Chinese brands

It sounds like yours are going to get hot, so it maybe worth paying a bit more for quality. e.g The mid range screwfix ones
