What should the batten spacing be for 12.5mm plasterboard? 600 or 400 centres?

If using 12.5mm boards on a partition constructed from 4” x 2” timber, 600mm stud centres with an intermediate noggin is perfectly OK in a domestic environment. I wouldn’t even bother considering 9.5mm boards but if you’re using 3” x 2” timber, go for 400mm stud centres as suggested.

Just re-read this & can now see I got the wrong end of the stick  (it was late!) ; 400 mm centres as Roughcaster says.
