I am now almost at the point of writing off a Baxi 105e combi as it is now exhibiting the same symptoms as it did last year (one year after installation), e.g. it is now over one year outside warranty...

The pressure keeps rising to above 2.5 bars, even after totally disconnecting the filling loop. I told Baxi (last year when only just out of warranty) that I thought it was the heat exchanger. They said it was highly unlikely but they came out and sure enough the engineer replaced the heat exchanger. I had several problems with the boiler before and it was the same engineer so he said they would not charge. Well its just happened again! Surely there is a known problem with these heat exchangers/diaphragms for this boiler? Are they keeping this one quiet?

I don't know what to do now, because a costly repair might just be throwing good money after bad? Any help on what I might do?

Cheers

Not the heat exchanger but the expansion vessel. You need to check the air pressure. Disconnecting the filling loop will not achieve anything as it is to do with the water heating up inside the boiler and expanding.

You may get some further advice from those more knowledgeable than me.
