Baxi Boiler Central Heating Bang

I have lived in my house for about 5 months and until now have had no REAL problems with the system. However, we have a BAXI BERMUDA LFE back boiler and in the past week or two the CENTRAL HEATING doesn't start to work for some while, sometimes as long as a couple of hours, until it lights with a loud bang and coughs out a lot of dust.

I plan to get it serviced and looked at by a pro asap but does anyone have an idea what causes this and how it is fixed?

Sounds like it has got man flu. A drop of loving care and attention is required and a brushing down of all those nasty gauzes.
