Baxi combi Hot running hot/cold ?

Hi, I have a Baxi combi 80e that was fitted about years ago.
over the past few months the hot water runs hot then goes cold then back to hot again. in this part of Essex we have got hard water. will a de-scale sort the problem? is this a DIY job

try checking the dhw thermister
