Baxi DWH o ring

Just a quickie, I have a Baxi 105e weeping near the spindle at the front of the DWH diverter.

Does the o ring fit internally on the spindle (meaning the front and rear parts of the diverter assembly have to be dismantled) or can it be replaced by just removing the gland nut on the front and re-fitting.
Have done this job before but can't for the life of me remember.

just remove the small gland nut on the front, give the push rod a good clean too while it is off , with steel wool or something abrasive
