I have a Baxi Solo RS/SS Combi Boiler, and today the pipe broke out of the valve on the radiator in the bedroom and water spilled out flooding into my kitchen. After turning the water off and draining the pipes, we tried later to relight the pilot.

The pilot light is relighting, but the safety switch is turning it back off, and there seems to be a groaning sound coming from the pipes. Upon checking, we found that there is another small tank which feeds from the large tank and this had not been switched to the off position and this seems to be where all the banging noises are coming from.

I then tried switching this off and relighting the pilot, which then stayed on but then the burner did not come on, and as soon as I switch the small tank back on the pilot goes out again.

Do you think I need to ensure all pipes are completed switched off and drained? Any suggestions. :(

Have you got a Solo boiler or have you got a combi boiler?

why are you trying to get the boiler working with no water in the system?

Turn the system off at the spur, and remove the fuse.

Get Corgi installer in to repair the pipe and check you have not damaged the boiler beyond repair.

GAS BOILER WITH LITTLE OR NO WATER AND THE BURNER ALIGHT MAY EQUAL VERY BIG BANG
