Sorry to ask but what size are the machine screws used in electrical sockets? Can you get longer 40-50mm ones?

3.5mm and yes you can.Just ask at the local wholesalers for extension screws

CEF sold my mate non MK extension studs for 80p each. Trouble was, he only needed a handful, but they would not split. Ended up he bought a box of 100 for, yes, you've guessed it, £80.00 + VAT...
