Belkin Wireless Logging On

Three computers log on without problem.
One does not it has limited connectivity.
The fix it windows screen says the Gateway is not assigned.
Btyahoo help no help.
Any ideas.

Can you describe the setup in more detail please?

A couple of things to try though.

Temporarily switch off all firewall software and router security. It's easier to get them going without these.

Right click on the limited connectivity icon and select repair.

Says cant repair as no gateway assigned.

Did you have to set the gateway for your other PCs.

Under default conditions, the router advertises the gateway and the PC will adopt the settings automatically.

If you have other wireless connections and you didn't manually set their gateway address and they work, then the other PC should do the same.

Are you using any form of encryption or mac address filtering on the router.

What service pack is installed on the disconnected PC?

Have you tried using a wired connection temporarily?

Have you tried running the network setup wizard?

By same story you mean you are still getting a cable unplugged message? The wireless connection will say it, but as for the cabled conenction I find that hard to believe.
Have you reset the belkin?

I really think you ought to post more details of your setup as previously requested.

It's going to be difficult if you don't provide more feedback.

If it's happening to both your wired & wireless connection, it's possibly a winsock problem.

Try downloading and running this,which will repair any damaged registry winsock keys.

The only service pack was the ont that came with Belkin.
It is mains not wind up.

We meant which Windows service pack (and for that matter which operating system). We are not there and cannot see your machine. We don't know if it's the same as the 3 working ones you have. There are are a number of reasons why it might not be working.

Are you using the belkin client or are you letting Windows control the wireless? Give us full details of your setup. Did you do the fix above, if using XP?

All computers are running xp service pack 5.1.2600 service pack 2 build 2600
Belkin but have tries windows as well.
Used the fix but didnt respond just told me the gateway was not assigned.
Cant use the winsocks fix as the computer is not on line.
