went to boot pc, missed and got the cat (no only joking)
switched on pc and it stopped with a black screen with white text.
something like "your hard drive is incompatable"
any way fixed it, but here is the real question, why did it go wrong? (please continue to read for more info)
I rebooted, went into the bios and it had changed the boot order (i have 2 hd's 2 cds all on 2 ide cables) hence my topic comment of "bios no it was soib"
the boot order was to boot from ide 1 master which has progs and pics (usual junk)
so i changed it back to boot from ide 0 master and here i am.
over the past week end i did format the hd but it has been ok till today, no new progs added or downloads (other than this forum)
i am going to download and run adaware, since i did loose that.
any thoughts or suggestions though as to what or why changed the boot order?
os is xp pro

ad aware got 138 things it removed
already had zone alarm and avg running when it happend
