Hi
I got a bit of discolouring in one of the bedrooms halfway up the wall. These are very old houses and i dont know if this is caused by old plaster or what. There looks nothing obvious outside, do i need to get someone to look at this or paint over it ?

looks like damp. What is above it?

Show us a pic of the gutter on the outside wall as well.

can you get in the loft?

is the wet patch on that gable wall?

had it been raining?

where are the chimneys and the gutter/downpipe in relation to the wet patch?

The loft wall is bone dry , this has been slowly getting worse for over a year so not drastic. The glittering is at the lowest point of the roof. I think these walls are lime based plaster so I don't know if this is anything to do with it. The areas do not feel wet but do feel cold.
