hi there im rendering the front of my house in a month or so and didnt know if anybody had any advise on on the block efect edge i will be putting on.I have not made a choice on how i will do it yet has anyone done this before. Baz

are you referring to qoins, ashlar? 
thats the one i couldnt remember the name of it
sorry but I have to give a trade name; deco pierre take a peek at youtube and seek out a member called kkhhoona or wall coating. they will show you how to acheive quoins etc etc
