Blocking up old vent

Hi chaps,

I now have a reduntant hole in my wall to the exterior where my old kitchen extractor once sat. Its roughly 10cm in diameter. Whats the best way to block this?

put a new extractor in it

Find a wall with matching bricks and drill a hole with a diamond core drill and plug the other hole

Honestly, it would be easiest to put a cowl on the outside, and a ventilaton grill on the inside, even if you leave it closed. Patching the brickwork is possible but will never look perfect and is more work.
