Hi All

I'm after some advice with boarding my loft. I want to use it for storing stuff, so it won't be heavy used.

Currently the joists are @400 centres, 3"x 2" and span 5.8m.

What is the best thing to do ???

Bolt and secure a 4"x 2" next the existing joists ???

Fluff

would it not depend on how much the "stuff" weighs? if it is "ordainairy stuff" chipboard or floorboards screwed down will be fine, if using floorboards, you only need put in say every other one as your "stuff" will be in boxes and wont fall throgh the gap, just remeber when you go up there is a gap

i have also seen "stuff" in boxes balanced on the rafters, so long as box is big strong enough its ok (not a brilliant idea mind but it works)
