Well, it seems that things don't go wrong in three's. Five looks like being the new number.

Anyway, this has happened before and can't remember what to happened in the end.

So, our central heating/HW is a single control for time, and double switch for HW/CH.
I noticed last night tha the boiler was running, even though the timer wasnt on. Went upstairs and the (unvented) hot water tank was also running.

Ended up switching it all off as it was too noisey for sleeping.
Just fired everything up again and the boiler and hot water tank are on, but the timer isn't.

I'm sure someone said about resetting something where the tank is, but can't remember if it worked or not.

Any thoughts?

Are these the two boxes in the airing cupboard with the tank? Both have auto and manual positionings?
Currently both are set at manual.

They may well be set as you say, but I'm betting one of those has a fault, either siezing up or the end switch is not opening. Danfoss by any chance?

Hmmm...One is Honeywell and the other is, well, an unreadable kind of signature. Looks like Danfoss though.

Does it need replacing or fixing do you reackon?

Or just moving the switch back and forwards will help?

Thank you.

Moved the automatic switch to manual then let it move back to automatic.
Wife had CH/HW on this morning, all off now and no sound from the airing cupboard.

Fingers crossed 😳

Something is sticking in one of the valves. The fault will surely return and when it does, come back on for further advice.

Will do. Sounds like it needs replacing or repairing, but a temporary fix is going to have to do this time (new dishwasher, new microwave
And fixing a leak).

Hold on. Must have also reset the times and the CH/HW was only until 10.30, which might explain why it was coming on and off 😖
