Boiler stays on even when no central heating is on...

Hi

I am working on a Valliant Gas boiler thats two years old. It gives hot water when it is on but the central heating does not work. Second, the boiler remains on even when no hot water is being used.

Now this could be because of some leakage which I have checked and there does not seem to be any? Any suggestions anybody?

Are you qualified to work on a gas boiler? CORGI No. ?

Without telling us the model then its rather difficult to have any clues as to what the problem may be!

I am an apprentice with a Corgi Registered engineer - I myself am not working on this alone but assisting him. The Valliant bolier make is 828E Turbomax plus.

don't know these boilers too well, but it sounds like a flow switch, or diverter valve sticking.

Is pre heat switched on (to check see if light is on it will extinguish when you turn dhw temp to min to put back on turn temp to max for a couple of seconds)
