We have an old Glow worm fuel save F boiler, everything seems to work ok. but if the CH and HW is set to off the boiler will light up for say 2-5mins then turn off. If the dial on the front of the boiler is turned from say 4 to 2 it will stop the process for a short while.

None of the rads are getting hot but the cupboard the hot water tank is in is cooking. I have check the micro valves and made sure these are working okay so little unsure why it keeps heating the water.

cheers

In this scenario I would be checking the DHW zone valve. It sounds as if the microswitch has broken and stuck on.

The fact the valve appears to open and close properly is a red herring.

You need to replace the valve head.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for the update, Ill get the value’s replaced and go from there.

Cheers

Dan
