Mine has ceased working, the lights are on but no movement from the motor. The last time this happened about 7 or 8 years ago I found the brushes were worn and replaced them, this time they are OK though.

It has been suggested that the door switch is faulty although I have dismantled and cant see anything wrong but I don't really know how it works, its complicated. the switch contacts open and close when operated manually but there is a voltage drop across them of just under 0.6 volts which seems to suggest the have diodes in the circuit.

The switch is the old type retained with screws rather than pegs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Peter.

Ours always needs a nudge with your knee on the door catch side to get it going.

Tried hitting it at all angles to no avail. I could take a chance on replacing the switch but the screw type are not readily available, at least not here. There are some in Australia but with carriage they are expensive - if they can get here at all. Someone is advertising a secondhand one but are not replying to emails.

Any other common causes?

Peter
