Our Bosch WFF 1401 washing machine is about 3.5 years old and during the main wash cycle ( my wife thinks its during the spin) it makes a noise whilst spinning of a bag of loose bolts (baring maybe).
The wash finishes successfully. I tried it just on an empty spin - no noise.
I then tried it on an empty wash - moving the program on from time to time - again no problems. My wife then washed some trousers - noise re-appeared. Has anyone any ideas please?

You can check for bearing failure by turning the drum by hand to see if the movement is smooth or notchy. Also check if there is up and down play in the inner drum when you hold the outer drum from moving.

as fido said spin the drum by hand if noisey its bearings but i think you may have a coin stuck between inner and outer drum
