Hi all.
I have a switch that was used for the hot water cylinder, which
is no longer there. It looks like the feed to the switch comes through
the wall and straight into the main box. I want to get rid of the switch and replace it with a socket to plug in a fridge/freezer. Is this allowed,
or do I have to take a spur from an excisting socket.

All help appreciated.

Find out what fuse/cb it is fed from. It will probably be a 16amp cpd with 2.5mm² cable.
In which case you will be fine to put a socket on there.
