:confused: Hi

I want to build my own wooden garden gate.

I'm not very good with tenons and dovetails etc.

Also I do not want nails or screws exposed on the frame.

My question;

Can I use dowling with external wood glue to fix the frame.
The frame will be normal size - 4' x 5'

One other point - will the 'shiny' dowling you get in a packet
from B&Q be OK - or do you suggest another type.

Any views or suggestions welcome.

Thank you in advance - Stephen

Why not do half lap joint which is easy to do than dowel then glue plus screw. The problem with dowel they must line up square and 90 degree.

Thanks Masona - I have just looked at what a 'half lap joint'
is and I will be using this method.

Cheers, Stephen
