car tyre tracks in lawn

I've just posted this in general-cars but then realised it should be in this category:

I want to be able to drive a car across some lawn about once every week. The lawn is slightly inclined, so I'm going to end up with a couple of muddy streaks after a while.

I don't want to put down two strips of paving - I'd rather something that blended in. I've seen some temporary carparks in fields using some kind of metal gridding that's made up of one inch square holes so the grass can grow straight through - what's this called - where do you get it.

Any other ideas?
