I'm considering carpet tiles for a newly completed attic conversion. THe problem is that the floor, which is dense T&G chipboard panels is contaminated with plaster dust. No matter how thouroughly I try to clean it, the dust is still there. I've already melted one hoover - it now looks like something from a Dali painting. I can imagine the dust working its way through the joints between carpet tiles very easily.
I know that carpet tiles do not need an underlay but I think it may be a necessity in this case. I was thinking about using something like Kraft or builders paper just stapled down.
Alternatively I have thought about painting the floor with a PVA solution.
Do any flooring experts have any opinions or suggestions?
Thanks.
