I've discussed this on here before, but have a different question this time! I have a cast iron downpipe with no shoe at the bottom, and hence water is sitting in the little gulley next to the house instead of being directed away.
I don't really want to fork out £30+ for a cast iron show, and was thinking of replacing with a cast iron imitation. However, my measurement of the downpipe diameter is 65mm, a lot of the cast iron imitation pipes come as 68mm. Can I buy a plastic shoe to fit on the end of a cast iron pipe and if so, is there a special fitting method?
