I'm building a conservatory on the back of the house and some one mentioned cavity trays. Not wanting to sound thick I didn't question their talk. Now I'm stumped. Are Cavity Trays just the stitched in lead falshing between the pitch of the connie roof and the recieving wall?

Anyone have nay tips on buiding one? I'm up to DPC level now.

cheers

has this stumped all of you too?

never known a thred to be so quiet..........

maybe its the firday afternoon lull?

The link shown above will let you know what is needed. (Good site of IG). The basics are that a cavity tray is to prevent any moisture in or dropping down the cavity from entering the house through the inner skin of the wall, as the slope on the cavity tray slopes towards the outer skin. If a cavity tray is not installed above the new conservatory roof level, water is likely to enter either the house or the conservatory.

Also make sure all `windings` on the wall ties are facing downwards,
this allows the water to drip of them in to the tray.
