IS it possible to use my computer as a cctv monitor and if so what would i need and would i be able to record as well, the computer is a far way from where i will be putting the cam.

I use this http://www.icode.co.uk/icatcher/products/sentry.html with an ordinary logitech webcam it has motion detect so dosnt fill your hard drive with nothing.you can try it before you part with any money.
