My landlord has said that he does not want anything stored in the loft. There is a 60gal. water tank resting on half inch thick boards across the beams and that weighs 600lbs so I don't think that the odd suitcase or box of whatever that I might put up there will cause the ceiling to fall.
He says that it is an insurance requirement but I cannot believe that.
