Does a truly flexible ceiling paint really exist? Some of the ceilings in our house look horrendous due to hairline cracks appearing at the joins between plasterboards.

I recently spent a whole day sanding and filling the lounge ceiling along with several coats of paint applied over a week or so and it looked perfect...then within weeks, the cracks appeared once more (possibly as a result of the recent high winds and temperature changes).

PS - I hate papered ceilings!

Sounds like it would be worth getting the ceiling re-skimmed with new scrims round the edges of the boards.

Lining the ceiling might do thetrick for you if the cracks arnt to bad

!

IMHO No !! I tried that evnciel/ now polycell trade  many years ago..ok it didnt crack but the movement of the boards loosend the heavy coating along the crack/s so each crack looked like a ruck in a carpet :) Though it seems ok for vey fine crazed cracks.. I tend to fill or just sand over fine cracks knowing they will reappear> but on very bad cracks I have had a bit of success using self adhesive scrim tape and caulking over it with joint filler, leaves a slight bump in the ceiling but with todays ceilings, another undulation blends in ..
