I just had an email from Avva with tips on how to keep my house safe and warm in the winetr. One of the things they mentioned is that if the house is unoccupied, to turn the stopcock off, but to leave the heating on at low. I always thought you shouldn't do this in case the system runs dry. Am I right?

I wonder if boilers are able to use sensors and ascertain if they are "running dry" or "overheating", and perhaps even shut thmeselves down. Maybe some of them possible have displays indicating error codes
