No such thing as standard I'm afraid.
If you have a local plumbers merchant take the cartridge and the tap head in and they may be able to help.

As said look for a brand name on the tap
 
Than do you no how much the cartridge usually cost? Just weighing this up against a new tap. Thanks
 
Varies from around £10-30 ish for a 1/2inch tap cartridge when they are at the higher end I generally recommend replacing the tap. If one cartridge has started to drip the other will follow shortly.

If you go with a new tap get a descent one such as bristan for which spares will be easy to come by
