changing a normal light to have a 2 gang switch for addition

Ermmm need some help guys. i wanna change our existing celing light with one switch, to a system where i will also have wall lights. i want the switch at the door to be a 2 gang so i can turn both lights on or off independently. but i am unsure how to cennect the cables into the 2 gang switch.

Whichever way your existing setup is wired you will have to run new cable to the switch position in order to do this. Study the diagrams in the 'For reference' post at the top of this forum. If you can't work it out from there then it's probably time to call in a pro.
