Hi All,

Easy one for you ....hopefully!

In my bathroom i have a pull chord next to the door, to turn on the lights.

I would like to remove the pull chord and extending the wire, down inside the plasterboard wall onto the outside of the bathroom.

What is the correct way to extend the wire, being in a bathroom environment.

Cheers

Neil

You could remove the pullchord switch (and cover the hole of course) and then go up into the attic and put in a junction box and then extend the cable from there down the plasterboard wall to the switch outside the bathroom.
The cabling then wont be in the bathroom so no problem.

If you can get in the loft, then why join it at all.

It most likely comes from the nearest light or may even be in a j/b already.
