Hi

I've just replaced the syphon in my cistern with a 'flapper' alternative (which incorporates an internal overflow) therefore my old bottom fed overflow pipe is no longer needed.

If I remove the old overflow what can I use to plug the hole in the bottom of the cistern that's left behind ?

Any ideas would most appreciated :)

Best regards

Ask your plumbers merchants if they do such a blanking disc for a cistern.

Never heard of one to be honest and may cause you more trouble with it leaking than its worth.

Leave well alone as it is not causing you a problem.

Thanks for the advice Bahco, I think I'll just do that :)

Wouldn't that be the same thing as a sink/basin blanking disc?

It may be easier to leave the standpipe inside the cistern, and plug the top of it.

I tried one of those but the thread was too slightly short :(
