HI, MY CITROEN SYNERGIE IS REALLY HARD TO START.GLOW PLUGS WERE CHANGED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO.YOU HAVE TO KEEP ENGINE TURNING FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR SO TO GET IT TO START WHEN IT DOES START CLOUDS OF WHITE SMOKE POUR OUT.ALSO WHEN IT IS RUNNING IT HAS A SLIGHT MISS.YOU SOMETIMES PUT YOUR FOOT ON ACCELERATOR WHILE DRIVING AND NOT A LOT HAPPENS ,ENGINE ALSO SOUNDS LIKE A PINKING SOUND WHEN THIS HAPPENS.IF YOU RUN IT FOR A BIT AND TURN IT OFF IT WILL START RIGHT AWAY BUT IF YOU LEAVE IT FOR A BIT IT IS THE SAME SCENARIO ANY IDEAS PLEASE.IT IS 1998 AND DONE64,000

i would question the glow plugs warmer for a start. im not sure how u test these things and they arent cheap iirc

hth

AFAIK you can pull the glow plugs and run 12V thru them to check that they work ok.

I assume your battery is in good condition giving out 12V + ?

As the glow plugs wont be running at full heat if your battery is low on juice.
