Citroen Xsara clutch

I have to sell my late father in laws Citroen Xsara 1.4LX Y reg.having driven it the clutch is very stiff.Does anyone know if it is cable or hydraulic.As it has only done 44,000miles i was hoping it didn't need a new clutch.

I've only worked on one petrol Xsara and the clutch on that was definitely hydraulic.
