I need to build an wall in the garden to replace an existing, single skin brick wall. It retains the garden upto a height of approx 0.6 metres.

Was planning to use concrete blocks - is there any reason to not use light weight blocks as opposed to dense concrete blocks?

The finished surface will be rendered.

thanks

I recently had a similar question...the only difference i could see was that you would need to use a special render...i didnt go with them for a finish so cant comment further!

If the blocks are retaining soil then they need to be suitable for use below ground. Check the manufcturers website for details. I'd recommend dense blocks as they are more robust and better suited to take external render.
