I have a cooker switch on my wall,i now want to get rid of this socket and replace it with two new plug sockets,my plan is to cut the cable at the ceiling and run new cable for the sockets(these being on opposite sides of the room)i have run the trunking and fixed the new sockets to the wall.
Know i thought i could go and by a square junction box,but no .
What would be the best way to connect all these wires together and most importantly can i do this type of thing with a 30 amp cooker cable ?

If the cable is run in 4mm² or above, then you can put it on a 32A MCB, and remember, all joints must be accessible. People often use a backbox and white blank cover on the wall where they need to make a joint.

Thanks..so just an ordinary socket back box and a blanking plate will do.

Don't you get the angels to do menial tasks like this?
