I have a few outdoor lights that are connected with cable running along 20mm black conduiting. Presumably becuase the cable didn't stretch, there are a number of junction boxes (those round ones) with connector strip to join cable together.

Do you consider use of connector strip in a black junction box OK? Or should I replace all the wiring (with all the hassle that would cause).

Thanks!

I agree with the compound and gasket. Otherwise terminal blocks in conduit boxes is quite normal.
