Well after reading all posts here regarding fixed connections etc. I now feel that i should get someone in to do the job.... i.e. corgi registered.

This really bugs me as i am almost possitive i could do the work myself. (Competently!) Presently have free standing cooker, looking to remove this weekend and fit new kitchen and new elec oven and fixed gas hob. I would then have to ring Corgi for certificate, is this correct?)

Presently there is a Bayonet connection with flexible hose to cooker.

So i guess the person fitting it would cut gas supply, remove bayonet fit 15mm or similar copper pipe + isolation valve, and connect rigid pipe to back of hob, this really does not sound all that difficult but is it really worth the hassle, would propably only cost £100 ish for someone to come and fit it? Providing there are no complications?

Is there anyone out there willing?

We only charge about £65 but for so little its not worth the hassle as these things are rarely so easy and we often end up doing woodwork as well.

Somebody cut hole in work surface and connected sink in Cov for £80.

I assume you will be able to cut the hole in the work surface?

Try "Heat Matters" in Woolston. Richard fitted our gas cooker a few months ago, and it was less than 100 quid. Previously he's serviced our boiler. On the basis of my experience I'd have no problem recommending him - still your choice though.
btw this is a genuine comment not a con job or recommending my mate !
