Hi
Elderly parents moving to a brand new bugalow. There is a bath suite / overbath shower installed. They need a walk in shower unit.
The builders say to install & supply this would cost £1500.
Seems steep to me. What would be a fair price for plumbing one in if they were to buy one?
Thanks

you will need to supply details of what exactly they propose to install to question the price.
Level shower trays are relatively expensive as are walk in showers.

As Gasman1015 says, level access showers are expensive. They sit into the floor + enable wheelchair users easy acess. Check out this for an idea - http://www.neaco.co.uk/

However a walk in shower unit is standard + alot less expense. Couple of questions:

- Are they gonna be removing the existing bath + replace with the shower unit?
- Is it an electrical shower or is it running off the mains (eg combi boiler)
- Does the price inc. all parts (shower, tray, screens + plumbing)

Get a full + detailed quote off them + post it on here.

For eg..........

I put in a shower last year for approx £450 (inc. Mira shower, tray, screens, tiling, trap, drainage & plumbing accessories)
