Cracked riser on stairs

Hi All,

I noticed one of the steps on my stairs was creaking. I had a look underneath and there is a crack in the riser.



How can I best go about securing this to stop the creaking and prevent any further deterioration?

If you can't get a screw in from below.. Fill the crack with epoxy resin or wood glue and plate it with some 6mm ply.
