The more cards, basically the more calculations you do, meaning the more crypto your paid. Yes heating will not be an issue this year lol

Basically, GPUs are better/quicker at performing the calculations than normal computer CPUs would be (fairly similar maths to pixel shading type calculations - I think), so they use as many of them as they can.

No, its so hard to say. It changes all the time, plus older cards cant mine certain coins depending on the DAG file size. The most profitable was *and still is most of the time* is ethereum, but they recently changed it so the rewards for mining are alot lower. before this 1 card could make 5 dollars plus per day, its now more around 2 dollars a day. And it could all be worthless tomorrow! Im a few beers down so not the best at explaining at the moment lol

My son mined some Dogecoin a few years ago, i think it cost me around £100 in electricity. He recently sold half of it and bought a Jaguar. All the luck of the draw. Given the volatility of crypto money I don't see it as a viable means of exchange for the man in the street, whatever certain countries may have decided.

I'm glad someone else asked the question. We installed 24 sockets for a crypto mine/games room to replace a load of troublesome 4way's. The whole room is on a 16A 2.5mm² radial circuit and the 'important parts' on an 800W UPS.

Quick bit of mental arithmetic and from the units I can see there appears to be about 200 units there.
How much power must they be drawing?
