Ok if I was doing this in the UK I have my tile cutter (floor tiles) but I have a second home in Turkey and need to tile (outdoor) area about 10 x 3 feet with floor type tiles . I dont want to take a tile cutter out as part of my luggage and then bring back, likely only need to be about 8 tiles requiring cutting. Is there another way to do this....thinking.... I have an electric drill out there and what if I get a cutter/disc then groove along the `break` line of the tile and snap it off.....would this work or has anyone got a better idea.

thanks

Hire one out over there / find some local builders on a job, get them to cut them and slip them a couple quid

Thanks guys, angle grinder might be an answer as I think I can borrow one. The voltage is similar to Uk.
Maxxy I suppose I could mark them up and find someone to cut them, plenty of building going on around the place, the tip you suggest is too high though thats 1% of their monthly wages :).

Thanks for the ideas.

What about scoring with a simple tile blade and then using a match stick to break in half?
