I am doing some tiling with the small traventine tiles on a mesh back but need to cut some in half (the ones about 1inch sq) any ideas on the best way??
As they are only small mosaics I would just use tile nibblers, grinder will send then flying and a wet cutter will disolve the glue holding them to the mesh.
You get a piece of timber and sit it on top of the tiles. Either lean or kneel on the timber and the tiles stay put while you cut them. This is much faster than nippers and gives you a neat edge and allows you to use the waste cut tiles.
