Hello all,

I have bought a semi-detached house and had it checked for damp. Surprisingly the damp is not on the external walls, they are all fine. The damp is on the wall joining to next door. You can actually see damp patches on the wall paper up to about 60cm high. I had a guy look and he quote £850 to tank 2 walls and plaster up to 1000mm. I thought this was a bit steep considering the walls are only around 3m long. So thats about 6 sq meters. I have somebody who can plaster for me but he's not sure on the damp proofing. Apparently you can get damp proof plaster, if I go back to brick on the old plaster what products do I need to prepare the wall before I can re-plaster. Any suggestions are gratefully received.
