I have a Dimplex ELB20 (Elba) which is basically a portable 2KW convector with a flame effect. It has two heat levels. On level one, I cannot get any heat out of the bottom where the convector is supposed to blow heat. On level two , I get about a minute of heat then nothing.
The top of the fire heats up slightly and the flame effect works but the heater will not heat a 16ft by 13ft ish room.
Could anyone point out if this is what is to be expected from such an item (I usually stick with the standard convector heaters) or if it is something else such as an early cut out on the thermostat?
