Hello!

I'm looking remove these old steps to either replace with new block work steps or decking but I'm not sure if I need to get a Structural Engineer to check they're not integrated into the extension...

Or is this a case of removing them hoping there isn't anything structural going on here!?

My guess is the house is all face brick work - like it is going to ground level behind the hose.

you might just have to be careful when you take out those blocks - I assume they just butt up to the house brickwork, not go underneath.

try and retain ventilation to the sub floor air bricks when building the new

Highly doubtful they are built in. As Notch says, just go a course at a time. No engineer necessary.

Thanks both! (y)

I'll give that a go and see how I get on. Just need to sort out what goes in its place beforehand so we aren't without steps!

Cheers
