HI

We are redecorating and have taken the old wallpaper down in the bathroom. I was wondering if I needed to size the walls before putting up the new lining paper or if this is something you only need to do on newly plastered walls?

Thanks!

I would personally clean the walls with sugar soap and then do a weak size as it is in your b/room, you want your paper to stick !!

Once a wall has been wallpapered once, the 1st lot of glue would have sealed your plaster, which is the main purpose of size. However I do like to use size every time after sugar soaping the walls. I find that the wallpaper can be moved more easily on the wall when trying to match the pattern and so makes the job that bit easier.
